How do you track the weather?

As I am approaching going on a cruise soon, I have been checking the weather, and the storm tracking every day now.Ā  I find it so easy to find out whereever I am at what is going on with the storms.Ā Ā Ā  First, I look at Twitter… I am following Hurricane Alerts and each day there are updates and a link to a map that shows the progress of the storms, and where they will be each day.

Also, not only Hurricane Alerts, but plenty of tweets are going across the country… Tweets from the Red Cross and twitter tracking for Gustav.

I downloaded Weather Bug and Weather Underground for the iPHONE which also has tracking features, including a live tracking tool on Weather Bug.

Communication is so important in times like these with all of the storms, and before we lacked in resources.Ā  However today we have evolved to have social media tools to keep us all informed.

With all of my tracking each day it seems as if I will miss Hanna, hopefully get by Ike, and miss Josephine… we shall see… :)

  1. I also had WeatherBug on my iPhone. Its basically what the default weather app is but with realtime tracking radar. But I deleted it because it was just too slow. Im back to the default weather app and probably will be until a really good/fast app comes out that has reliable radar.
