The Three R’s of 2008: Relax, Renew & Rejuvenate

So, I wanted to get this out earlier in the beginning of January, but as I have been doing intense thinking on areas of my life I would love to improve on, I thought about what those particular items might be. I came up with a Top 10 List of Ways to Relax, Renew & Rejuvenate in 2008 and wanted to share with you all for your own lives:
1) Exercise & Fitness:
- Change workout routine so your exercising stays creative and challenged
- Hire a Personal Trainer if can do so
- Make an effort to find the time of the day when you have most energy and work out then
- Grab a work out partner and push each other to higher performance
2) Enjoy natural sunlight
- Take a brisk walk in shine for a real mood enhancer
- The sun shining on you will give you vitamins for your health just make sure to wear sunscreen!
3) Relax
- Give yourself 15 minutes each day of peace and quiet, a time to be reflective, meditate, or simply unwind
- A breath of fresh air or escaping to a quiet room will energize and empower you
4) Eat Healthy
- Give yourself a food plan each day of proper nutrition that promotes health, well-being, and rejuvenation
5) Good communication
- By thinking about our communication before acting on it, and listening and understanding others we can provide good communication in all areas of our lives for less stress, and peace
6) Mental Health
- Read: Reading lets your mind decode, discriminate, comprehend, interpret, and interact. Your curiosity is aroused, your intellect is challenged, and your mind is nourished
- Write: The act of writing something down stimulates your mental processes. Writing down goals and to-do lists provides us with a way to clarify and organize our thoughts.
-Memorize: Try memorizing written to-do lists, shopping lists, referring to notes as necessary. The act of writing something down stimulates the memory
-Music: Music therapy can help decrease stress, stimulate the immune system, and aid in memory
-Do “brain games” : Brain games help sharpen your mental clarity, like crossword puzzles, SUDOKU, etc
7) Spiritual Health
- No matter what you believe take time to mediate, pray, reflect on the higher beings, and ways to become more spiritual in your every day situations and tasks
8 ) Channel Stress ( Many of the above items can be done to channel stress)
- Stress cannot go away completely, but an optimistic look at life can give more of a feeling of personal control
- Say “no” to taking on too many tasks/projects if you just can’t
- Prioritize and be realistic about work deadlines and ask for help
- Exercise
- Meditate
9) Keep Family & Friends close
- Make it a point to call family members every week, whether immediate or out of town
- Make time to visit with family, especially around the holidays
- Help a friend in need, whether its help with moving, favor of some kind, or lending a listening ear
- Send emails if you cannot call to brighten a friend or family member’s day, e-cards work great!
-Your family will be there for you and back you up, so rely on them for advice and help
10) Volunteer
- There are so many amazing organizations out there that you can sign up to do volunteering, whether it is a small amount of time or a significant amount of your time it will make you feel better inside, and you will be giving inspiration, hope, and commitment to others
Ok, so I hope you got some inspiration from my tips to Relax, Renew & Rejuvenate in 2008. Everyone needs a feel good blog in their face once in awhile, and it helps me to list out these items for my own well being.
